Filming

January 21st 2015

Today we completed our filming for our thriller opening. To start with we found it quite difficult to find a day in which everyone involved in our thriller opening could do as we all have commitments within the sixth form and part time jobs, however with lots of organisation we eventually arranged to do it on the 21st january. We started our filming around 4'oclock which allowed us with enough time to complete the scenes in which we needed natural lighting. From then on we carried on filming, making sure we used our lighting equipment when needed, and collected all the shots we needed. Throughout filming we checked our stroyboard, to make sure our filming was accurate. Overall i feel our filming went really well and was successful as we managed to get a number of different shots, which meant we could pick and choose which shots we would like to use when editing.

Editing

January 27th 2015

Grace and I began our editing on the 27th January. To start with, we uploaded all of our clips from the camera and started to put them into order. Once we had them in order, we started trying different transitions and decided that straight cuts and occasional fades would be best as they appeared more natural and allowed the audience to feel as if they were in the opening. Once the transitions were complete. Myself and Grace began putting in credits, we felt the order of the credits was important, as well as the size, colour and font. We also wanted to make sure they did not block out anything from the scene, so we had to choose where we were going to put them. Once we had completed the credits, we started to add in our soundtrack. We felt we wanted to add in diegetic and non diegetic sound. So we found a soundtrack that we felt worked well with our opening, as the music was crescendo and dimmunedo in the correct places. We then began entering diegetic sound. Such as the sound of a camera and footsteps. The soundtrack was the final stage of editing for us.
